Crawling, climbing and walking up Table Mountain.
We live every day believing resilience is a gift to only a few, but the truth is that resilience is an inherent human feature we all have – it only takes a bit of courage to access it within ourselves.
This morning, my brother and I hiked up Table Mountain with little expectation on how difficult it would be until we were so far that it was too late (and difficult) to turn back. I knew I had to find the courage to be resilient and push on. I resorted to crawling and relying heavily on my upper body in order to get over the steeper, more difficult parts. My shoulders and arms burned from carrying the rest of my exhausted weight.
Thankfully, we made it to the top! The feeling of accomplishment and the amazing view was worth the effort!
